The purpose of Core Projects Ltd Health and Safety Policy and Management System is to establish an inclusive framework that enables health and safety tasks to be fully integrated and implemented as part of the Company’s routine tasks and operations.  In this way health and safety management will become a business tool that controls risk and loss throughout the Company’s operations.  This will enable staff to implement health and safety tasks so that each contribution cumulatively adds value to the project and business.

Core Projects Ltd and its staff are fully committed to efficiently managing safety in an attempt to achieve zero reportable accidents and the progressive control of risk and losses.  This attitude will also add to the finished product by the minimisation of waste by risk management techniques.

Core Project Ltd’s staff and appointed contractors will together assess and manage risk not only during their own and immediate work, but consider any risk and loss implications of their actions on others working on a project.  In this way health and safety ceases to be a set of prescriptive and constraining working practices but part of the quality driven management agenda, drawing on the professionalism and the communication process within and between all those working on a project.

Core Project Ltd understands that health and safety management is primarily about avoiding accidents, which are unplanned events characterised by loss of management control.  Therefore successful health and safety management within Core Projects Ltd will be defined by its contribution to getting it right first time, on budget and triggering innovation for the benefit of the end user and adding value to the business.  It should also have a primary role in enabling efficiency by stripping out waste during procurement and construction activities.
